Good Neighbor Next
Door Program
The HUD Good Neighbor Next Door program supports revitalization efforts by offering law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and teachers the chance to purchase homes in designated communities at a significant discount. Eligible buyers receive 50% off the list price of qualifying properties, provided they commit to living in the home as their primary residence for three years (with the discount prorated over 36 months). All offers must be submitted through a HUD-registered real estate broker.

Application Process and Requirements
The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) allows approved nonprofit organizations to purchase HUD-owned homes at a reduced price. This program enables nonprofits to reinvest in their communities by rehabilitating properties and reselling them to low- and moderate-income families. To participate, nonprofits must first secure FHA approval.

Dollar Homes are single-family properties obtained by the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) through foreclosure that have remained unsold on the market for an extended period.
